A cross is made of two upright pieces of wood, joined somewhere in the middle. While one part goes from east to west, the other goes from north to south. The short depiction of what the cross is, points to how the two major religions of the world view this iconic and historical point of reference. Where one sees it as an icon of salvation the other speaks unequivocally about it as something that should have no iconic place in the sphere of history. Why this disjunction?
